Complex Systems' Mapping and Systemization
Managing complexity isn't about size, power, energy or speed. It's about doing the right things right. It’s about systems thinking and knowledge. Where defining and approaching the right problem correctly is half its solution, and identifying and effectively and efficiently implementing its solutions is the other half.
Complex systems are characterized as high-order multi-level multi-dimensional (i.e., multidomain, multidisciplinary, etc.) (MLMD)-compositions, which contain, within and in-between dimensions and levels, a large number of different interacting parameters (linear, nonlinear, continuous, discontinuous, etc.), and are, consequently, recognized by the high difficulty of their behaviours predictability. Therefore, a very close understanding of the complex system's MLMD-space's interdependency relationships is the key to its effective and efficient systemization.
Complex systems' systemization approach requires their entire ecosystem consideration, its and their various subsystems general representations, and their MLMD-space’s interacting parameters robust interdependency relationships’ knowledge full extraction, to thoroughly understand their behaviour as, for instance, response to changes (e.g., parameters' fluctuations, sensitivity to disturbances, degradations, aging, failures, etc.).
